Mr. Nigusse Weldemariam Reda
Assistant Professor, Mekelle University, Ethiopia

Nigusse Weldemariam Reda received his Bachelor degree in Pedagogical Sciences (from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia) and master´s degree in Higher Education (from the University of Oslo, Norway). Mr. Nigusse has been working at Mekelle University (Ethiopia) since October 2006.  He worked at the rank of graduate assistant (Oct 2006/7-June 2008/9), lecturer (May 2012/13-August 2015/17) and assistant professor (Sept 2016/17-present). Currently, he is a doctoral research fellow at Mekelle and Tampere Universities- a joint project supported by the Finnish government.

Dr. Moses Waithanji Ngware
Senior Research Scientist and Head of Education and Youth Empowerment Unit, African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), Kenya

Ngware is Senior Research Scientist, and Head of Education and Youth Empowerment research unit at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC). He designs and conducts policy relevant research in education and youth empowerment related areas. His current research focus is on education and skill training systems in sub-Saharan Africa, and the effectiveness of education interventions. With more than 20 years of research experience, he has conducted more than 18 impact evaluations, longitudinal studies, and surveys in sub-Saharan Africa that have informed education and training policies.

Prof. Peter L. Barasa
Acting Deputy Principal, Alupe University College, Kenya

Peter Barasa is a professor of Education in the School of Education, Moi University and  holds  a Ph.D., M. Ed., B. Phil, Postgraduate Certificate in Research (Hull University, UK) and Diploma in Education (English and Literature- Siriba T.T.C.). He is currently the Deputy Principal (Academic, Research & Student Affairs) Alupe University College - a Constituent College of Moi University, Kenya. He has developed extensive expertise in the areas of the Theory and Philosophy of Research, Language Education, Applied Linguistics, Internationalization of Higher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and performing Arts. He is a DAAD alumni, an ORS (UK) award recipient, a Wingate Scholar and a Salzburg Fellow (Shakespeare and the Globe).

Dr. Diallo has been working in the education sector since 1989 as a thought leader, an academic, a consultant, a project administrator, a researcher and a secondary school teacher. He joined the African Virtual University (AVU), an Intergovernmental Organization based in Nairobi Kenya, which specializes in Open Distance and eLearning, in August 2005. He held several senior positions within the organization before his appointment as the CEO/Rector in August 2007. His major achievement at AVU consists of leading the organization to become a respected player in open education and in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education in Africa.
